Get to Know Susan

Susan believes every person offers the world unique gifts, and they also face their own set of challenges. She helps leaders move through roadblocks with authenticity, shift aside the rubble that is holding them back, and sometimes, uncover their own super-powers. Through her coaching, customized workshops, and a range of services that support leaders’ exploration of next right steps, Susan helps clients transform their blind spots into bright spots.

 

As a Coach as well as communication, leadership, and culture specialist, Susan has brought her energy and expertise to some of the world’s most respected organizations. She has coached employees at the CIA and individual clients ranging from Fortune 50 executives to one of Hollywood's most creative directors. She helps C-suite officers deepen the impact of their message, and executives develop personal branding. She partners with individuals in career transitions to help them uncover and articulate their own unique stories concisely and elegantly, staying true to – and heightening – their own brands.

 

Susan has guided organizations in building their core values, as well as corporate leaders in elevating their practices in the boardroom to benefit both mission and margin. Her workshops on a range of topics including Purposeful Communications, Executive Presence in a Virtual World, and Preparing For Your Next Act, all deliver executives new clarity. Susan mastered the art and science of this work throughout a 30-year career in the worlds of media, boardroom leadership, and coaching. She earned her communications chops as a producer and script writer at the BBC, Discovery Channel, and C-SPAN. As a vice president at NACD, Susan has guided and equipped senior executives and boardroom leaders to elevate their expertise and best position themselves for success. As a content specialist, she’s moderated panels and spoken at national conferences on topics ranging from leadership to crisis communications.

 

Susan has worked with executives and board members in a range of industries. Susan earned a BA in international relations and communications from Tufts University. She is an NACD Governance Fellow and is certified as a leadership coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
